Earning reward points for paying rent on time? Eat your heart out, Starbucks royalty program. Bilt Rewards has more than quadrupled its evaluation to $1.5B after receiving a $150M funding round this week.

The startup now has over 500,000 active members, and processes $3B rent payments annually. That number will continue to grow as Bilt expands its landlord partnerships with Blackstone, Related Cos., and Equity Residential.

One of the benefits to users on Bilt's platform is the ability to send payment records to the main credit reporting agencies (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax), which means renters will boost credit histories by providing on-time rent payments.

Companies continue to find creative ways to save money on office space by teaming up with other companies and splitting the bill.
