What's up Calculated Investors.

JP Morgan Chase pumps $1B into a JV partnership with Haven Realty Capital to construct new Build-To-Rent (BTR) communities across the sunbelt. The JV will target communities with 50-200 homes and average square footage from 1.5k-2.5k.

This is the second major investment in the last 2 years from JP Morgan into the SFH rental game, as they are coming off the heels of a $675M investment to build ~2,500 rentals in high growth markets.

One thing you can't accuse JP Morgan of is sitting on the sidelines. They are LONG on single family rentals and continue to invest large chunks of cash into fixing housing shortages nationwide.

Housing starts continue to fall as high construction costs and interest rates scare off developers. Instead of moving, many Americans are opting for in home renovations and additions.
